Report #2: Did Non-Human Beings help prevent the 1970s Middle East War?
"Either the most bizarre thing happening on the planet today, or the most important".
In 1977, a curious book was published: Prelude to the Landing on Planet Earth. It was billed as a message from “The Council of Nine,” a group of alleged non-human intelligences channeled by a woman named Phyllis Schlemmer. But the actual writing—the way the ideas were shaped and presented—was the work of someone else: British philosopher and author Stuart Holroyd.
Holroyd, who passed away earlier this year, is rarely mentioned in connection with the strange and controversial legacy of The Nine. Yet he played a crucial role. Best known for his writings on consciousness, mysticism, and the evolution of human potential, Holroyd approached the project as both a ghostwriter and a philosophical translator—tasked with giving voice to an alleged extraterrestrial council, without ever claiming the message as his own.
He never spoke publicly about his involvement.
Prelude is part prophecy, part cosmic psychology. The book blends metaphysical teachings with warnings about Earth’s spiritual decline. The Nine, speaking through Schlemmer, claim to be overseeing humanity’s development from beyond the veil—guiding us toward a planetary awakening that will culminate in a kind of galactic contact.
To some, it’s pure sci-fi wrapped in New Age garb. To others, it’s a coded manifesto—part of a larger pattern of transmissions and encounters that have haunted the fringe of the 20th century.
What did Holroyd really think of the material? Did he believe in The Nine, or see himself simply as a writer to someone else's revelation?
“I don’t come to a definite conclusion in the book” Stuart says. “I leave it as something of a puzzle”.
